Right from the start, the nose of Jack Daniels Coy Hill provides those bold red fruit notes—think strawberry jelly or those strawberries-and-crème candies. It’s sweet, rich, and brings a touch of nostalgia with layers of toasted marshmallow and red Jolly Ranchers. As it opens, warm caramel and butterscotch start to peek through. There’s also a cedar-like woodiness that leans a bit toward fig and apple.
The mouthfeel on the palate is full and coats the palate completely. The fruitiness continues here, with bright red fruits and a savory-sweet balance that even feels like biting into some BBQ ribs. The salted caramel carries over, mixing with a bold, slightly charred note. It’s complex and rich, maintaining that delightful tension between sweetness and dark, toasted flavors.
Long and lingering, the finish leans into a beautiful charred oak and toasted marshmallow. While it doesn’t veer off into unexpected flavors, it’s steady and consistent, reinforcing the profile established from the start.
Jack Daniel's Coy Hill is the definition of a special pour—packed with depth, bold flavors, and that perfect "special occasion" feel. The balance of sweet and savory makes this a top-tier bourbon in our collection, and one that we'll definitely miss when the bottle’s empty.
If you find it near MSRP (which is impossible, we know), it’s a must-grab. However, we’ve seen this at around $800+ on secondary. In our opinion, it doesn’t hit anywhere near that valuation.

THE NOSE:
It smells like someone made syrup out of cedar wood.
It's also full and rich like creme brulee.
It also has a subtle dark red fruit profile that leans toward figs and apples.
THE TASTE:
The mouth feel is just exceptional and full, completely coating the mouth. It does have a bite to it but nothing higher than what you'd expect from 115-120 proof.
That cedar woodiness is present but the sweetness keeps away the dryness the wood might otherwise bring.
There is a savoryness and a sweetness to it that reminded me of good barbeque ribs.
THE FINISH:
The finish does not disappoint, it's long and pronounced.
It doesn't get too adventurous but sticks with the same flavors from the palette.
BUY OR PASS?
There is nothing that can be faulted as far as quality of the nose, palette, and finish. This is a full bodied bourbon, and all aspects are exceptional.

Beautiful red fruit notes, like strawberry jelly, alongside a darker, toasted profile—think burnt marshmallow.
It brings back memories of those strawberries and crème candies your grandma used to have, with hints of red Jolly Rancher sweetness. As you let it open up, rich caramel and butterscotch start to show in the best way.
It’s the kind of nose you could sit with forever. There's even a touch of salted caramel for good measure.
THE TASTE:
The palate carries over much of what you get from the nose: bright red fruits and an irresistible sweetness that feels like salted caramel.
It’s rich and full-bodied, with great balance between the fruit and dark notes.
THE FINISH:
It starts off with some heavier charred oak, but it’s not overwhelming.
After a few sips, the toasted marshmallow flavors shine through—my personal favorite part of this pour.
BUY OR PASS?
This is easily a top 3 pour for me. The complexity, depth of flavors, and special occasion feel make it a standout bourbon.
It’s a bottle I’ll treasure, and when it’s gone, I’ll definitely miss it.
